When I was growing up, I consumed music with an adult ear and a child’s heart.  When I listen to Luther Vandross now, I listen with a child’s ear and an adult heart.  I remember how I felt the first time I heard Superstar and Love Won’t Let Me Wait.  I was, as most women and girls were, completely mesmerized.  Then, there was Since I Lost My Baby, If Only For One Night, If This World Were Mine, Anyone Who Had A Heart, and my personal favorite, Promise Me.  The list literally goes on and on.  Luther Vandross was and still is the best male vocalist of my lifetime.  Yesterday would have been his 61st birthday, so I wanted to honor him this week.  Afterall, he was NOTORIOUS for his style, class and charisma!  Of all the popular songs Luther Vandross sang, the one below I remember most. This is my favorite video because of all the women’s faces. :) May your soul rest in peace, Mr. Luther Vandross…. xxxooo
