One of my first and favorite posts ever published on this blog site was an article on the importance of undergarments entitled Know When To Hold’Em. It was fun and informative because many women think undergarments, such as girdles and other “hold it together” magical pieces, are for women who are overweight. So untrue! Well, today’s focus is a little different. I want to battle the infamous, “Does my bra and panties HAVE to match?” question. In a time where color blocking is totally ruling fashion, I want so badly to say, “Girl, of course they don’t have to match!” But, in all honesty when I pull lingerie, I pull a set, and I never mismatch. I am obsessed with great panties and “brassieres”. My particular favorites are the high-waisted shorts/boy shorts with bras that make my girls sit like they were intended to sit. (Side Note: My girls aren’t bad for a 34-year-old with 2 grown kids. *Snaps Thrice*) Back to the subject: I love frill and lace, and I live for leopard undies. JUDGE ME! I live a Peg Bundy life sometimes! LOL ~
Now, I must be big sister-girlfriend and give some advice. If you want your Honey Love Baby to crawl out of his skin….ALL BLACK EVERYTHING with a hint of lace will do it! And, don’t ask him. He’ll say, “Girl, you don’t have to wear nothing!” (in my best boy voice) But, most men will admit the suspense is thrilling. At the same time, men are very simple. You don’t have to go to bed in a garter every night. Just pull your nice black set (with a hint of lace), brush your hair out, dab his favorite fragrance and a natural face (natural make-up works too), you will be A TOTAL WINNER!
What brand should you wear? The brand of underwear is totally up to you, because as we all know you can buy them just about anywhere. My dream undies are La Perla! But, because I’m so “frugal”, I stick with Victoria’s Secret. I was introduced to VS around the age of 21 and I’ve worn nothing else since. No matter the brand, always, ALWAYS buy cotton panties. VS’ cotton panties are very soft and comfortable. The brassieres can be a be a bit on the pricey side, but they also have very affordable options. The best time to stock up on bra’s (and panties) is during their semi-annual sale. You can also sign up to receive text messages on the Pink Nation site and they will notify you by text of sales and promotions.
How often should you buy? There is no set rule (that I’m aware of) in terms of how often a woman should buy underwear. I used to buy undies at least once a month before I discovered the semi-annual sale. Now, I stock up. But, if you can’t afford to splurge on undies every month, use the “tooth-brush” rule. Every three months buy new panties.
Lastly, but most importantly, get measured for your correct bra size! You can go into any Victoria’s Secret’s store and they will measure you free of charge! There’s nothing worse than seeing a woman with 4 “girls”. Funny, but true. Weight loss/gain is also a factor when determining the true measurements of your bra size. I once lost 30 pounds, and when I put on my 38 DD bra….(wipes tears from eyes) they were gone. So, make sure you are measured! I really hope this article has given some insight. Enjoy ~ xxxooo
